My Chance to Cover the Presidential Race!

Posted on September 23, 2008

I know I'm a little late to this party, but this is a once-a-week blog. I'm fashionably late.

So, Sarah Palin's email was hacked. The information was posted on WikiLeaks, a website that became popular a while back because it made a bank really angry.

I've read what was on the site, because I'm nosey and/or out of a journalistic quest for the truth (I'm sure at least one of those is right). It's not very interesting stuff. Neither is the group that made it public, which goes by the incredibly clever name of "anonymous." My, how inventive

There are two parts of this story that are interesting, though. The first is that the individual accused of being responsible is the son of a Democratic Representative. Kid, your father is going to kill you. Luckily for him, though, the courts decided not to go after him. So, aside from being an amusing story about party politics, this part is mostly wrapped up.

The second interesting thing about this is that there's not a single spam email in there. No $1 Viagra, no Free Cialis, not one red Local_Singles. My Yahoo! mail has over 3000 spam messages (I never clean out the spam folder, so I can watch the number fluctuate as Yahoo realizes that old messages weren't actually sent to me from the year 2037), and no amount of spam reporting has ever put so much as a dent in it. The real story here is what steroids Sarah Palin is injecting into her spam filter.

So, who wants a Frée Dell Laptop? My email is bursting with them.
