In a doubleheader against Wichita State yesterday, the Kansas softball team extended its losing streak to four games.

Kansas lost the first game 5-4 in eight innings, instead of the normal six, and fell 7-3 in the second match-up.

In the first game, the Jayhawks collected 10 hits, including a home run over the left field fence from Serena Settlemier, junior pitcher and co-captain, in the fourth inning. But the Shockers picked up two runs in the eighth inning and picked up the victory.

In the second game, the Shockers rallied in the bottom of the sixth. The team scored five runs and gained a 7-3 lead, and the Jayhawks were unable to come back.

The team’s next game is this weekend against Texas A&M.; The Jayhawks will play the Aggies at 2 p.m. tomorrow and at noon Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark.
