Alex Galindo has announced he will transfer from the University of Kansas.
Where he is headed is not yet known, Galindo said. Galindo, a 6-foot-7 guard from Newark, N.J., played in 22 games last season, and started at Colorado. He averaged 4.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. He also avereged 10.3 minutes per game, more than any other freshman.
"We enjoyed Alex this year," coach Bill Self said. "Losing his summer to a broken wrist and over a month of preseason workouts to a pulled groin certainly slowed his development. We are appreciative of Alex's effort throughout the season. We wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors."
Galindo's career-high in scoring came against Wisconsin-Milwaukee in late December when he scored 14 points. Shortly thereafter, against Georgia Tech adn Kentucky, Galindo made three-pointers to win both games.
"I enjoyed my freshman year," Galindo said. "It had its ups and downs, but overall it was a learning experience. I wish Kansas and its fans nothing but success."
