Event to benefit tsunami victims

The KU Fine Arts Department will sponsor its third annual World Music and Dance Concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 at Liberty Hall, 642 Massachusetts St.

Fiesta Flamenca, a Spanish Flamenco group, will be the featured group at the event.

“The band plays a highly infectious brand of Flamenco,” said Clarence Henry, professor of fine arts.

The event is free for University students and faculty with proper identification, and adult tickets will cost $12. Tickets for teens and senior citizens will cost $10. Children under 12 will be let in for free.

The proceeds for this year’s event, under the theme “Cultural Landscapes: Music as a symbol of hope in the midst of tragedy,” will be donated to benefit the victims of the tsunami, Henry said.
