Wayne Simien, senior forward, was named to the Unites States Basketball Writers Association's All-America first team today.
Simien leads the Big 12 Conference in scoring, with 19.4 points per game, and rebounds, with 11.1 per contest. Simien was chosen as the Big 12 Player of the Year by a variety of media outlets, including The University Daily Kansan, as well as by Big 12 coaches.
He is also a finalist for the John Wooden award, an honor that recognizes basketball's best players.
Simien is joined on the All-America team by Utah's Andrew Bogut, Illinois' Dee Brown, Wake Forest's Chris Paul and Duke's J.J. Redick.
