When KU coach Bill Self asked freshman Alex Galindo to show ESPN Announcers Ron Franklin and Fran Frishilla how deep his range was during a shoot-a-round earlier this season, Galindo stroked a ruetine jump shot and swished it-from half court. A Native of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Galindo came to KU after UTEP coach Billy Gillespie left for Texas A & M, allowing him to get out of his letter of intent and reopen his recruitment. He choose KU, and Jayhawk fans everywhere are happy for that.

A true perimeter player, Galindo has averaged 4.3 points per game this season in limited action. He is deadly from behind the three point arc, and may be the Jayhawks best three point threat. When Wayne Simien went down with an injury earlier this season, Galindo saw increased playing time as he was switched to the forward position. Against Georgia Tech on New Years Day, Galindo hit a three pointer with just over a minute left in overtime, that cut a four point deficit to one, helping the Jayhawks come from behind to win.
