Scott Drew couldn't replicate the success of his first season as a head coach in his second. After posting a 3-13 Big 12 Conference record in year one, the Baylor Bears, under Drew, fell to just 1-15 in his second.

Baylor struggled throughout the season, winning just eight games out of conference, and placed either 11th or 12th in almost all team statistical categories. The Bears were dead last in rebounding margin, field goal defense and scoring margin, among others.

Baylor is still suffering the reprecussions of a scandal, which saw a player murdered, a player accused of the murder, recuriting violations and a coach cover-up of recruting violations. Baylor was suspended from all post-season last year, but returned to the Big 12 Tournament this year, exiting in the first round.

Baylor did land a player on the Associated Press all-Freshman team, leaving some hope that perhaps all is not lost for the Bears. Aaron Bruce, guard, averaged 18.2 points per game and played in all 28 of Baylor's games.
