Non-conference schedule announced

Kansas Athletics announced the men’s basketball non-conference schedule for the upcoming season on Tuesday. The schedule is highlighted by a game against Arizona at Allen Fieldhouse as part of the Big 12/Pac 10 Hardwood Series.

Kansas is also has road contests against Southern California, Georgia Tech and Boston College. The Jayhawks will host DePaul.

Kansas is also hosting the Jayhawk Invitational at Allen Fieldhouse. Three of the four opponents the Jayhawks will face at home are undetermined. The only known opponent is Arizona.

"This schedule is comparable to the one we had in 2004-05 when we had the number one RPI in the nation," coach Bill Self said. "It is very good. It has high profile games with Arizona, USC, Georgia Tech, Boston College and DePaul and many other games against quality competition. Hosting our own event will be something all of our fans will enjoy."

Former Jayhawk Rex Walters, now coach at Florida Atlantic, will bring his owls to Lawrence on Nov. 28.

Kansas opens up its regular season on Friday, Nov. 9 against Louisiana-Monroe at Allen Fieldhouse.
