A Halloween candy bowl can consist of more than chocolate and candy corn, and whether you’re a practical jokester or you just like to eat weird things, some unusual types of candies definitely put the trick in trick or treat. With names like the Fish Lollipop, a tasty sucker that fizzles into a nasty fish flavor, or Bacon Mints, pork-flavored candies with a hint of mint, these delicacies pack some different flavor. But the creative confections still have ingredients similar to those found in a Snickers bar or a piece of caramel, so don’t think you’d be ingesting any chemically processed treats. And unless you get nauseated at the thought of eating disgusting things, this candy won’t make your stomach turn. Leslie Miller, Lenexa senior, started handing out quirky candies to her trick-or-treating friends when Jelly Belly began to produce Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, a “muggle” version of the wizardly treat from the Harry Potter series. “My friends like the candy I give them because it’s completely opposite of the generic stuff,” Miller says. “They can get their chocolate and all, but with these candies, they get something gross and fun.”
