The Texas A&M Aggies came into Saturday’s 19-11 loss ranked fifth in the nation with an average of 260 rushing yards per game. They ran for a season-low 74 yards against the Jayhawks, but Aggie defensive lineman Michael Bennett still predicted the teams would get a rematch in the Big 12 Championship.

Cross country men, women fail to improve on last year’s performances
The men’s cross country team finished seventh at Friday’s Big 12 Championships, while the women finished 11th. Colby Wissel led the men with an overall fifth-place finish, and Lauren Bonds finished 30th for the women.

Golf team breaks last-place streak
Freshmen lead Jayhawks to higher finish in fall season’s final tournament
The Kansas men’s golf team rallied late to place eighth in the 12-team Lanfall Tradition tournament and avoid a third consecutive last-place finish. The Jayhawks have an offseason to figure out how to improve, as they do not play again until the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational in Hilo, Hawaii in February.

The Kansas football team again relied on its defense to make a final stand at the end of the game when it beat Texas A&M 19-11 on Saturday. But senior Brandon McAnderson’s career-high 183 rushing yards made the Jayhawks look like the superior running team, despite the Aggies coming into the game ranked fifth nataionally in rushing yards per game.

The Kansas football team’s 19-11 victory against Texas A&M on Saturday was more than just a hard-fought road game. The Jayhawks are now 8-0, atop the Big 12 standings and at No. 8 in every major poll and in the BCS rankings.
