Captain Schuyler Bailey of the KU Public Safety Office said they are teaming up with the Kansas Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to keep a close watch for underage drinking at tailgates on campus lots.
University police enforce campus lots for every game, but this is the first time this season ABC’s have joined in. Bailey said ABC’s are also teaming up with Lawrence Police Department to enforce tailgates in the neighborhoods around campus.
Bailey said they are stepping up enforcement to greater levels than in previous weeks to prevent an increase in danger from underage drinking and to stop people from breaking the law.
