Classes were canceled at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, according to Todd Cohen, director of University Relations. All night classes are also canceled, and university employees may leave at 4 p.m. All Edwards campus classes are canceled as well.
The decision was made by the provost after the buses began to have trouble getting up the hills. Cohen said that if the buses were slipping and sliding, they didn’t want to jeopardize the safety of students. Margretea de Vries, administrative assistant with KU on Wheels, said buses were only running outbound as of 1 p.m. The last bus departed 2 p.m.
Decisions regarding tomorrow's classes will likely be made in the morning. Students can check impending weather conditions online. Information about delayed and canceled flights can be found at FlyKCI.com.
Anschutz Library will be open regular hours, Watson Library will close at 6 p.m., and Art and Architecture, Music and Dance, Spahr Engineering, and Spencer Research libraries will close at 5 p.m.
