What’s your favorite western movie?
Bret Ernst, comedian for the Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights: Tombstone, without a doubt. It’s an amazing movie. Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday locked it down. He’s one of my favorite characters in any movie ever.
Emanuel Adams, Lenexa senior: I can’t even remember any Western movies that I’ve seen.
What is your opinion on the writer’s strike?
B.E.: I think it’s going to end sometime this month. It’s not a real strike. I mean, they go in when it rains. But I support the writers.
E.A.: I don’t really know that much about it. I know they want more money but it seems like most people, like Conan O’Brien, are doing fine without them.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
B.E.: The first Dallas Cowboys football game I ever went to. I grew up in North Jersey, but I am a die-hard Cowboys fan. Some friends and I went to Giants stadium with our faces painted. I was going ape-shit for the Cowboys, which is dangerous in the Giants’ stadium. Not only did the Cowboys win that game, but my friends and I ended up on camera.
E.A.: I’ve always been a big fan of Legos™. The Lego castle was my favorite thing I ever built.
If you had to pick a theme song for your life, what would you choose?
B.E.: I don’t know. The theme song to Rocky really gets me pumped. I watch that movie whenever I get angry. It’s the greatest movie of all time.
E.A.: “Ridin’ Dirty” by Chamillionare.
What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
B.E.: One time when I was really down, I asked Vince Vaughn for some advice. He told me, “Don’t get involved in petty things and negative stuff. You can’t soar with the eagles if you’re pecking with the crows.”
E.A.: “Just keep sketching.”
