Police Briefs: June 25 to June 27

A 25-year-old female patron approached police at Cadillac Ranch on June 27 and claimed a male tried to put his hand in her mouth. The suspect fled the scene. He was last seen in a dark t-shirt and blue jeans.

A 17-year-old male contacted police after he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashing into a residence at 1520 Massachusetts St. Police cited the driver for inattentive driving a leaving the scene of an accident.

Lawrence police watched a man steal a beer from Kwik Shop at 1714 W. 23rd St. The suspect fled the scene. Tthe police caught up with the suspect in the 1700 block of 24th St. Suspect was arrested on charges of theft and interference with the duties of a law enforcement officer. The beer was recovered.

JUNE 25

Police are currently investigating a claim that a 23-year-old Lawrence man inappropriately touched a 19-year-old female in October 2005.

Police are investigating a claim that a 21-year-old male illegally touched a 20-year-old female on June 18. The victim and suspect reportedly knew one another.

Police are investigating a report that a 25-year-old Lawrence man and 35-year-old Lawrence man raped a 20-year-old Lawrence women on June 1. The victim reportedly knew one of the suspects. There is no further information at this time.

Police are investigating a claim that a 28-year-old Lawrence man had sexual relations with a 14-year-old Lawrence girl between June 7 and June 8. The suspect and victim reportedly know one another.
