Traffic on 23rd and Iowa Streets were diverted around 4:30 p.m. today after a man riding a red motorcycle was struck and killed by a semi trailer. The police are continuing to investigate the situation but are currently only releasing information that the deceased male was white.
John Lavery, CVS employee, heard the accident occur and went outside to see what happened. He saw the police direct the driver to the side of Iowa for questioning then shortly after placed a sheet over the body in the middle of the intersection.
Police are assuming that traffic through the intersection will be delayed late into the evening.
