State Rep. Barbara Ballard, D-Lawrence, filed for re-election Thursday. Ballard represents the 44th House District, which covers most of Lawrence.
“It has been an honor to serve the 44th House District,” Ballard said. “I will continue to support policies in the Capitol that reflect the values of my constituents, both as Kansans and residents of Lawrence.”
Ballard was first elected in 1993. She serves as a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Social Services Budget Committee, Transportation and Calendar and Printing Committee and the Joint Committee on Legislative Educational Planning, as well as being the Associate Director of the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas.
