“No smoking” signs were put up in the outdoor stairwells of Wescoe Hall Wednesday.
Jill Jess of University Relations said Wescoe occupants filed a complaint with human resources regarding health concerns because the area was so close to the doors.
Alassane Fall, lecturer of African studies, said the signs were a good thing.
“I hate to see people smoking,” Fall said. “Find your place, and do your thing.”
One smoker thinks the signs are not a big deal.
“It doesn’t bother me,” said Nathan Roser, DeSoto graduate student. “It’s not something I worry about.”
