Kansas Basketball vs. Texas A&M
A photo gallery of the Kansas men's basketball game against Texas A&M at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.
College Station, Texas Sophomore Darrell Arthur and junior Mario Chalmers each scored 16 points as Kansas beat Texas A&M 72-55 to claim at least a share of the Big 12 conference title. The Jayhawks will have to wait until Texas and Oklahoma State play on Sunday before they know if they have the title to themselves. If Texas loses, Kansas will win the title outright for the second year in a row.
But such matters were trivial to the Jayhawks on Saturday, who won at least a share of the title for the fourth consecutive year. Bill Self said Kansas played its most complete road game of the season. The Jayhawks scored 44 points in the paint and held the Aggies to a season-low 12 points in the paint. 16 of those points came from Arthur who controlled the first half. In the second half it was sophomore Sherron Collins who imposed his will on the contest. The Chicago native finished with 13 points and seven assists.
Now Kansas can look forward to the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The Jayhawks have earned a first round bye and will play in the quarterfinal round on Friday at the Sprint Center.
