Student fees and controversy: It is well-know among students that fees go hand-in-hand with tuition at the University of Kansas. Many view these fees as controversial and sometimes unnecessary. Eric Foss, law school representative in the Student Senate, is one such person; he recently attempted to eradicate a $40-per-semester fee. In the first of a multi-part series about student fees at KU, KJHK reporter Tom Atchity sat down with Foss to learn more about the disputable fee.

Studying China: Here at the University of Kansas, the Office of Study Abroad lets students study in more than 60 countries around the world. The recent collaboration between KU and a major Beijing University inspired KJHK contributor Sachiko Miyakawa to find out more about what life is like for students studying in the most populated country in the world.

Letting secrets spill: We all live with secrets, whether they exist as little white lies or entirely sepereate lives. Frank Warren, author of "Post Secret" and founder of the movement of the same name, is obsessed with secrets. He recently visited the University of Kansas where KJHK's Emily Soetaert found out why Warren thinks that understanding secrets could make the world a better place.

State of the Arts: With Spring coming up, the art scene in Lawrence is buzzing with activity. Here to help keep you informed about the many events happening around town is KJHK's State of the Arts contributor Bethany Ashlock.

Music review: "Once" motion picture soundtrack: The soundtrack for the film "Once" was released in May of last year, but it continues to gain popularity after winning accolades like "Best Original Song" at the Oscars. In fact, the album peaked this week at number seven on the Billboard 200 after 30 weeks on the chart. KJHK's Elliot Kort spent hours listening to the album in hopes of learning the secret to its marathon success.

Movie review: "The Bank Job": This past weekend at the movies, Jason Stathom traded in his driving skills for his thieving skills in the new film "Bank Job." KJHK's Abby Olcese again enlists the help of contributor Elliot Kort to discuss why the film turned out to be more of a botched job.
