Electoral Count: Obama projected to win presidency

4:48 p.m.

The first results from eastern Kentucky and Indiana should be in at about 5 p.m. Neither state, however, will be officially called until all voting closes at 6 p.m. Kentucky, which is a traditionally red state, may be called for McCain shortly after all of the polls close. Indiana, however, is much closer. It probably won't be called for a candidate until the Chicago suburb Gary releases its results.
