Kansas Basketball vs. UMKC
Photo gallery of Kansas' game against UMKC Sunday at Allen Fieldhouse.
Kansas defeated UMKC 71-56 on Sunday night thanks to 13 second-half points from Cole Aldrich.
The 6-11 center played just three minutes in the first half due to foul trouble but helped the Jayhawks rebound from a 32-32 tie.
Sherron Collins led the Jayhawks with 16 points and Tyrel Reed added 12. Markieff Morris had 15 rebounds.

Kansas has begun to pull away from UMKC but the pesky Kangaroos continue to try and hang around.
What a difference Cole Aldrich makes. After playing just three minutes in the first half with two fouls, Aldrich has made his presence known immediately. The 6-11 sophomore has hit all three of his second half shot attempts and has seven points.
Sherron Collins continues to leas the Jayhawks with 16 points on six of ten shooting. The Jayhawks have still made just one of 12 three point attempts but are now shooting 49 percent from the field.
Kansas used an 8-0 run to take a 42-35 lead early in the second half and the lead has stayed around the seven to eight point range for most of the second half.
Halftime update, score tied 32-32
It's halftime, and Kasnsas and UMKC are deadlocked in a 32-32 battle. Yes, you read that correctly - the Jayhawks are tied with UMKC of The Summit League as they have struggled in all stages of the game so far.
Sherron Collins leads the Jayhawks with 10 points on three of six shooting. Tyrel Reed has six points and Brady Morningstar and Markieff Morris each have five. Morris has a team high seven rebounds.
The Jayhawks are shooting an ebismal 32 percent from the field and have committed four charging calls on layup attempts. They are just 1 for 11 from behind the three-point line and have more turnovers, 7, than they do assists, 4.
Kansas has 15 points from the free throw line and has made just eight field goals for the game.
Cole Aldrich played just three minutes in the first half after committing his second foul not even four minutes into the game. Marcus Morris played just four minutes after picking up his second foul as well, and Conner Teahan left after committing his third foul of the first half.
Its been a team effort for UMKC as eight different players have scored for the Roos. Reggie Hamilton and Latreze Mushatt each have six points for the Roos, who have hit four of 14 three pointers but have committed 16 personal fouls.
7:56 left, UMKC leads 21-16
Kansas looks pretty slugish at the start of this one. Both Cole Aldrich and Marcus Morris have early fouls and have headed to the bench. Sherron Collins was called for an offensive foul and had a basket wiped away but hit a three pointer on the Jayhawks first shot attempt in 2008.
Kansas trailed by as many as seven points at 16-9 but used a quick 6-0 run capped by a Collins jumper that brought the Jayhawks to within one at 16-15. KU has hit 5 of 12 shots but missed two wide open three pointers including a Conner Teahan attempt from the corner.
The Jayhawks have four turnovers and have hit just one of five attempts from behind the three point arc. A long jumper by James Humphrey has put the Roos up by four to silence the capacity Kansas crowd.
