The University of Kansas School of Law is hosting its annual 9/11 forum, focusing on the 2008 presidential candidate’s stance on U.S. defense policy and terrorism. Speakers include Dr. Phil Schrodt, professor of U.S. defense policy, and Capt. Lawrence Indyk, a U.S. army veteran of the War on Terror.
Dana Watts, Syracuse second-year law student and International Law Society president, said students should come because of the issues in the upcoming election.
“It’s a chance to hear different perspectives about how the world has changed since September 11, 2001,” she said. “Issues of national defense, human rights, and the global response to terrorism are important to all of us. The fact that this year’s forum falls on an election year makes the issues all the more timely and important.”
The forum will take place at 12:30 Thursday, Sept. 11, in 106 Green Hall, and is sponsored by the International Law Society and Phi Beta Delta. Free Jimmy John’s will be served.
