Student Senate debate rescheduled

Campus media will hold a Student Senate debate Monday.

The University Daily Kansan, KUJH-TV and KJHK planned to host the debate, their second annual, last Monday, but the event was canceled because of security concerns.

The debate will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the KUJH-TV news studio, on the second floor of the Dole Human Development Center. It will be broadcasted on KUJH-TV, Sunflower channel 31, and posted in full at Kansan.com.

“We feel it’s important to provide a forum where students can discuss issues,” said Yelena Pavlik, Plano, Texas, senior and managing editor for KUJH-TV.

I don't know much about this "news studio" thing, does this mean the majority of students won't be able to see the debate in person?

Wait...isn't the KUJH studio in the Dole Human Development Center? I didn't think the Dole Institute had a second floor.

Well great, now it's correct on everything but the actual paper. Maybe next time somebody should read it before they send it to the press. In fact, there should probably be someone whose job it is specifically to make sure that things in the paper make sense before it gets printed.

I just attended a Student Senate debate in Alderson Auditorium in the Kansas Union. I don't know if Monday's is a separate debate or what, but I'm not sure why the Kansan didn't report on the debate happening today.

Also, no Tutu Lee at this one. Disappointing.
