Overlooking the picturesque campus of the University of Kansas, the newly renovated Joseph R. Pearson Hall, simply called JRP, is home to the teachers of tomorrow.
The building is made for the students and has many amenities that help make life easier for college students and even teachers.
“It has the latest technology that aids future teachers,” Tyler Fowler, Overland Park freshman, said. “Also, it has many extra amenities like a café and a computer room that are there for everyone to use.”
JRP opened in 1959 as a residence hall, and was renovated in 2000. After renovations, the School of Education moved from Bailey Hall to JRP. Despite being on the end of West Campus Road, JRP is where the educators of the future go to learn and to use the resources that JRP offers. JRP is truly a students’ building and has all that is necessary to become a teacher, besides the hard work required.
