Junior left-hander Shaeffer Hall lasted only two innings, and Texas Tech ended No. 24 Kansas' six-game winning streak as it downed the Jayhawks 15-10 in Lubbock, Texas, Friday night.
Hall had his shortest outing of the season, going two innings while giving up a season high 13 hits, nine runs and striking out only one. The offense, however, was ready to bail Hall out, scoring 10 runs on 13 hits, but the bullpen couldn't keep the Red Raiders from scoring.
Sophomore third baseman Tony Thompson finished 2-for-5 with 3 RBI and his tenth home run of the season. It wasn’t enough as freshman reliever Kevin Burk and junior reliever Travis Blankenship combined to give up six runs in the five innings after relieving Hall.
Kansas will try to even the series today at 5 p.m.
