Every year as many as 700 bicyclists die in accidents. That is equivalent to two a day. The City of Lawrence is promoting bicycle safety.

The City of Lawrence plays host to its annual bicycle helmet fair to promote safety education.
At the fair, 500 children received custom fit bicycle helmets as well as safety advice.
Serious injuries can be reduced by as much as 85 percent if bicycle helmets are worn and safety precautions are followed.
