The Summer Food Drive hosted by the KU Unclassified and University Support Staff Senates ended today. Thelma Simons, information technology coordinator, started the food drive to help benefit Just Food, a local organization that distributes donations to community food banks.
Simons said that 66 boxes were collected this afternoon, and that the donations from those boxes weighed more than 1,800 pounds. She said there were still a few more boxes not collected yet.
“I think it went really well,” Simons said.
