Kansas football announced in a press release on Friday that running back Jocques Crawford would be transferring front the University to a lower level division university to play football.
“Jocques was looking for an opportunity to get more playing time,” coach Mark Mangino said in the press release. “We support his decision and wish him well.”
The Memphis, Tenn., senior had transferred to the University in 2008 from Cisco Junior College in Cisco, Texas.
While at the junior college, Crawford rushed for 1,935 yards and 19 touchdowns his sophomore year and was named junior college player of the year in 2007.
Crawford was suspended this past spring semester and was not allowed to participate in the spring football game.
In the 2008 season, Crawford played in all 13 games including the Insight Bowl, though he did not start in any. Crawford ended his junior season only rushing for 232 yards and four touchdowns but was the third leading rusher on the team.
Crawford’s best performance of the season was in the 63-21 loss against Texas Tech, rushing 44 yards and scoring a touchdown.
