Todd Phillips, director of “Old School,” creates a comedy about a bachelor party that, to say the least, goes very wrong. “The Hangover” plot is primarily focused on the adventure three best friends have after a crazy night in Las Vegas. The movie stays true to its title, ultimately focusing on the hangover of the next day and the rollercoaster of problems that ensue. Just as “Old School” highlighted the vulgar side of humor, “The Hangover” can be offensive and quite disturbing at times, especially with its incorporation of a baby. Despite its vulgarity, it is a comedy that is impossible not to laugh at almost all the way through. Actors Bradley Cooper from “Yes Man” and Ed Helms of “The Office,” arguably have turned their smaller comedic careers toward larger ones with their characters in “The Hangover,” and actor Zach Galifianakis, known as “Fat Jesus” within the trio, has most definitely made his own comedic debut. Despite the hour and a half of constant entertainment, I am sure everyone will agree the credits are by far the most entertaining part of the movie, as they cleverly display what actually happened the night before the hangover.
