It took me three tries to get through David Ohle’s “Motorman.” Ohle dives into the swamps of your brain and dredges up strange demons for your consideration.
Ohle, professor of English at the University, writes chapters out of order so you never know precisely where you are.
The book starts with a man who has various animal hearts sitting in a room, too afraid to move, and thinking someone is outside his room. It gets weirder from there.
This is not a novel for the faint-hearted. This novel is acid that will corrode the outer layer of your subconscious so you can see what’s inside.
