Richard Lariviere, the executive vice-chancellor and provost at the University, has been named as the finalist for the position of president at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
George Pernseiner, chancellor of the Oregon University System, announced in a press release this afternoon that Lariviere would be appointed to the head position at Oregon “pending a visit” to the university beginning March 10.
Lariviere has been vice-chancellor and provost at the University since 2006.
Lariviere’s term would begin July 1 if appointed. He would be replacing Dave Frohnmayer, Oregon’s president for the past 15 years.
