One day after securing the conference title outright, Kansas was honored by Big 12 coaches for its conference dominance.
Bill Self was named Big 12 coach of the year for leading an inexperienced squad to a 14-2 conference record. Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich were named to the All-Big 12 First Team. Aldrich was also named Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Jayhawks newcomers were honored as well with Tyshawn Taylor and Marcus Morris selected to the All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
Oklahoma's Blake Griffin was named conference player of the year.
