Lawrence's Waste, Recycling, and Reduction division recently held a recycling drive where people to dispose of their electronics. The electronics were taken to a recycling plant where they were either resold or disassembled.
As another way to "go green" the city of Lawrence's Waste, Recycling, and Reduction division hosted a recycling drive where people could drop off unwanted electronics. It was held at Free State High School.
After the recyclables were collected, they were sent to a recycling facility in Topeka where they were either resold or disassembled for safe recycling. The drive held so people could avoid having their electronics and appliances end up in a landfill.

Video: Local drive offers ways to recycle electronics
"After the recyclables were collected, they were sent to a recycling facility in Topeka where they were either resold or disassembled for safe recycling."
My money is on resold and shipped to somewhere in Africa where people can melt the trace amounts of gold out of them, and not worry about the enviornmental implications of it. Sad but probably true. All in the name of "going green." At least they won't be in our landfills...
