Kansas Athletics released a statement Friday announcing the cancellation of softball's KU Invite and rowing's Sunflower Showdown in Manhattan because of inclement weather in the area.
Softball was scheduled to host Johnson County Community College and Butler County Community College Saturday and Johnson County Community College and Cowley County Community College Sunday. The cancellation ends softball's fall schedule one week after Kansas finished 2-1 during the Jayhawk Fall Invitational.
For rowing, the cancellation marks the second consecutive weather cancellation of the Sunflower Showdown. The team will next compete Nov. 1 in the Frostbite Regatta in Wichita.
