The historic document written down by Dr. James Naismith's secretary detailing the 13 original rules of "Basket Ball" has been sold for more than $4 million, the Associated Press reports.
David and Suzanne Booth were the winning bidders. He is an alumnus of the University and both are major donors. They have expressed a desire to bring the Naismith document back to Lawrence.
The Booths have been in contact with the University regarding the rules, "but it is way too early to discus what will happen with the rules," said Jim Marchiony, associate athletics director for external relations.
Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and interim athletic director Sean Lester met with Booth earlier today to discuss the future display of the rules, according to a media release.
“We appreciate the opportunity to work with the Booths on developing an appropriate plan to display the rules in keeping with their expectations. I want to thank David and Suzanne for this tremendous opportunity to further cement KU and Allen Fieldhouse as the center of the college basketball world,” Gray-Little said in the release.
Naismith constructed the game as a winter sport while working at a YMCA in Massachusetts before coming to Kansas in 1898, where he taught and coached.
Proceeds of the $4.3 million sale from Sotheby’s in New York will benefit the Naismith foundation, which promotes sportmanship, according to the AP.

It should be: "How about discuss?"
Critique of editor fail.
See how that feels?

As far as I know, Zomgx2 doesn't have someone paid to edit his/her words. Garrison does.
