Kansas Athletics announced today that the home football game against Kansas State will be played on Thursday, Oct. 14 rather than Saturday, Oct. 16. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Network.
“It is exciting for this in-state rivalry to be featured nationally with the television exposure of a Thursday night game on FSN,” Athletics Director Lew Perkins said in a press release. “This telecast will showcase the City of Lawrence and our great University.”
Coach Turner Gill said that the move should benefit students since they do not have school on Thursday or Friday of that week.
Late Night in the Phog, Kansas basketball's annual preseason scrimmage, will take place on the next night, Friday, Oct. 15.
