The Kansas Board of Regents approved an 8.2 percent tuition hike today, causing KU students to pay $306 more per semester.
Other tuition increases
Kansas State: 7.4 percent increase
Emporia State: 6 percent increase
Pittsburg State: 5.6 percent increase
Fort Hays State: 4.1 percent increase
Tuition for in-state students will be raised from $3,707 to $4,012.
Incoming Freshmen will pay $4,366, or 6.4 percent more, for tuition with the KU Compac, an agreement that locks in tuition price for four years.
Tuition for all public universities in Kansas has been raised but KU has the largest increase. Proposals for the increases were presented in May. The money from the increased funds will go towards academic programs.
