The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Chuck Long, Kansas' new offensive coordinator, is facing negligent supervision charges stemming from an alleged beating during a team meeting during his time as San Diego State's head coach.
The suit alleges that Lance Louis, an offensive lineman currently with the Chicago Bears, "snuck up" on former San Diego State player Nick Sandford and struck him, causing a concussion, a ruptured eardrum and facial injuries.
It also alleges that Long told directed other San Diego State representatives to not report the attack to law officials.
Long was fired as coach at San Diego State a few weeks after the alleged incident.
Kansas athletic director Jim Marchiony told the Lawrence Journal-World that the department had no comment on the matter. He did not immediately return a call from the Kansan.
