The Pivot Questionnaire is best known today as the compelling and “scrumtrelescent” questions asked by none other than Inside the Actors Studio’s James Lipton. Based on the 19th century famed French series “Bouillon de Culture,” the Pivot Questionnaire is said to reveal an individual's most personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs. For nearly two centuries, the Pivot Questionnaire has been asked of some of the finest minds the in the entire world. Now, it’s your turn.

1. What is your favorite word?
For some reason, I always liked the word ‘crisp’. It makes me think of dollar bills, like ‘crisp dollar bills’. I think I make sounds more than words, like I always go “gah” or “bah!”
2. What is your least favorite word?
Puncture. It makes me think of a pencil puncturing through skin. I have no idea why.
3. What turns you on?
Humor.
4. What turns you off?
Cigarettes.
5. What sound do you love?
Rain on the roof. I love the sound of stirring macaroni.
6. What sound do you hate?
Snoring.
7. What’s your favorite curse word?
I’ve developed quite a sailor mouth since I started college, I’ll admit that. Probably ‘shit.’
8. What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?
Oh God, there’s so many and I don’t even have a major right now. When I was little, I always thought it’d be awesome to be a gymnast or an ice skater, but my favorite was Tanya Harding so that didn’t go over well.
9. What profession would you not want to do?
Anything involving sitting in an office.
10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
The first thing that came to mind was him going “What up, girlfriend?!”
Robert Decker, Stillwater Okla., Senior
1. What is your favorite word?
Lugubrious. It means gloomy. It sounds good. L-u-g-u-b-r-i-o-u-s.
2. What is your least favorite word?
The. It’s really boring. I hear it all the time.
3. What turns you on?
It’d be the opposite of what turns me off, so an apparent lack of interest. “Hard to get” type thing.
4. What turns you off?
Caring too much, too much effort.
5. What sound do you love?
I like the sound in the morning when the coffee pot is brewing.
6. What sound do you hate?
My dryer makes this really freakin’ loud beeping sound. I hate that. It’s really loud
7. What’s your favorite curse word?
That’s a good one. Um, shit. I like them all. Fuck is very versatile so it has that going for it.
8. What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?
I think I’d be a really good dictator. I care, not about myself, and that’s the important part.
9. What profession would you not want to do?
Salesman. I couldn’t handle that. Generally working with people doesn’t sound like something I could do.
10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
“You were right.”
