Kansas will make its final road trip of the season at 4 p.m. when it travels to Des Moines, Iowa for a doubleheader against Drake. Kansas is currently 19-32 (1-15). Drake is 30-18, but has lost seven of its last nine.
Coach Megan Smith said Drake could potentially be an at-large bid for the NCAA Softball Tournament and it would be a tough couple of games.
“Drake has played a really tough schedule and has had a really successful season,” Smith said. “They’re a really scrappy team and well balanced.”
Smith said the team needed to keep doing what it had done all year to be successful.
“They’re a legit team and we have to go up there and focus on what we need to do, focus on fundamentals and fight,” Smith said.
Kansas will close out the regular season Saturday at 2 p.m. when it plays host to Iowa State for a two game series at Arrocha Ballpark.
