Structure fire causes serious damage
A structure fire at a house on the corner of 10th and Mississippi streets was reported around 8:15 P.M. Friday evening. None of the residents were home at the time, but the fire caused severe damage to the house.
More than 10 emergency response vehicles responded to a house fire tonight at the corner of 10th and Mississippi streets. A passerby called 911 around 8:15, the boyfriend of the tenant said, and smoke could be seen from blocks away, an employee of Cork and Barrel, located at 9th and Mississippi, said. Both Mississippi and 10th streets were blocked one block away from the fire. Neither of the two tenants were home when the fire started and firefighters rescued a partially burned dog from the fire.
The fire had been put out by 9 p.m. and fire chiefs said the cause of the fire was not yet known.
