Visiting international students will showcase their culture at the first International Expo and Performances.
International student Nur Adil from Bengkulu, Indonesia, said 23 countries will have tables displaying various items from their country. Indonesian students are performing native dances, serving food and handing out souvenirs.
The international students are here on two different scholarships through the Applied English Center and will be in Lawrence between one and two months. There are 18 students from Indonesia and each student will perform for their different provinces during the event.
Dela Anjelawti from Sumatra Island, Indonesia, said, “The best moment here is to perform for our country.”
The expo is 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Lewis Hall’s front patio and is free for students.
