Visualizing Enrollment

Last week, the Office of the Registrar released its 20th Day Reports for the Fall 2011 semester. These reports contain a variety of information on enrollment figures and have been visualized in the interactive charts and graphics below.

The way information is displayed in this chart can easily be changed by the user. The color and size of each data point can be changed using the menus on the right. The data in both axis can be changed and displayed either logarithmically or linearly using their respective drop down menus. Users can magnify their view by clicking inside the chart area and drawing a box to their desired size. The speed at which time progresses can be changed by manipulating the small triangle next to the 'Play' button in the bottom left corner of the chart. Near the top right corner of the chart users can switch to either a bar or line chart.

Fall 2011 Enrollment Statistics (Lawrence Campus and KUMC)

* Schools representing less than 5 percent of enrollment include the Schools of Architecture, Journalism, the Arts, Pharmacy, Social Welfare, and Music and both the Graduate and Law Schools. †The School of Nursing and the School of Health Professionals both represent less than 5 percent of KU's enrollment, but were grouped together with the School of Medicine because all three schools make up the majority of KUMC's enrollment.
