Last week was a week of patriotism for many students, with Fourth of July fireworks shows and watch parties to see the U.S. women’s national soccer team take home its second consecutive Women’s World Cup championship. While students celebrated, two crimes were reported on campus.
Theft in Hashinger Hall
The victim had her cell phone stolen out of a common room in Hashinger Residence Hall July 5 around 7 p.m., according to police record.
This case remains open.
Battery on Jayhawk Boulevard
The victim claimed a taxi driver grabbed his arm during a verbal disagreement near the KU Info booth on Jayhawk Boulevard July 2 around 5 p.m., according to police record.
This case was sent to a prosecutor.
