Dr. Barbara Ballard, state representative and Associate Director of the Dole Institute of Politics,  is teaching "Women in the Legislative Process" through the women's studies department. Ballard will be hosting guests such as Kathleen Sebelius and other female state political leaders.  During the course, Ballard said students will get a plear picture of who they are individually and what the status is of women in the United States.

University of Kansas chancellor, Robert Hemenway, welcomes the Class of 2011 as the newest members in the Jayhawk family Wednesday night during the 142nd Convocation at the Lied Center. He urged students to take pride in their recent Jayhawk heritage because of what he referred to as the Jayhawk's unique presence throughout the world.

Kansas volleyball coach Ray Bechard is three wins away from becoming the most winning volleyball coach in school history. Bechard's teams reached the NCAA Tournament three consecutive seasons from 2003 to 2005.
