Jeff Schroder leans in to his bike during the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships criterium race. Schroeder finished the race in 59th place in a time of 1:12:01.0. The other KU riders who competed in the race were Jason Knight and Christian Beer, who finished 84th and 85th, respectively.

Jason Knight of the KU cycling team pushes uphill during the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships at Perry Lake Saturday afternoon. Knight finished the race in 38th place in a time of 3:47:25. The other two KU riders, Jeff Schroeder and John Giles, suffered flat tires during the race. Giles finished in 80th place and Schroeder was unable to finish the race.

KU cyclist Christian Beer rounds a curve during the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships criterium race in downtown Lawrence Sunday morning. Beer finished the race in 85th place with a time of 1:13:07.5. The figure-eight track featured eight 90-degree turns. The race attracted a large crowd downtown.

Cathy Ledeker, Lawrence artist, sits on her living room couch underneith three of her favorite art pieces she has made over the years. Ledeker has been a calligrapher and made other arts for more than 25 years and currently works at Van Go Mobile Arts.

Tire marks and a broken ledge are the scattered remains in front of the Chi Omega sorority house. Sunday morning a small pick-up crashed through the front window of the house while the car was being chased by police. One person was flown to Kansas City for injuries.
