Wilt Chamberlain, who played for the Jayhawks in the late 1950s, averaged a school-record 29.9 points per game and 18.9 rebounds per game during his career at Kansas. Chamberlain was the first player to win the Rookie of the Year and the Most Valuable Player awards during the same season in the NBA.
