Amber Harley, a senior from Wichita, and Vinur Kaul, a senior from Mission, showcase their concrete mixture that allows water to pass through. The mixture took about 28 days to cure and will allow rainwater to reach the earth rather than be drained through the sewage system into lakes. The civil engineering duo beat 32 teams to win the National American Concrete Institute Pervious Concrete Competition in Chicago.
