Students at the SUA sponsored Date Night participate in speed dating Thursday night at the Hawk's Nest located on the first floor of the Kansas Union. The event drew over 60 people looking for love and friendship. The Kansas softball team has been forced to practice indoors for most of the winter. The team is looking forward to getting on the field to play their first real game in Houston this weekend. Published on February 11, 2010	Chris Scafe, owner of Sunflower Recycling, picks up recyclables at 1644 W. 20th Terrace. Sunflower Recycling is one of several local businesses that pick up recyclables from homes and businesses for a monthly fee. The city of Lawrence is currently discussing whether to implement curbside recycling through public or private means. University of Kansas ground crews are working to remove mounds of snow, like this one between Allen Fieldhouse and the Burge Union parking garage. Heaps of snow ruin grass because snow mold, a type of bacteria, keeps the grass from receiving oxygen. The long-planned South Lawrence Trafficway, including six lanes and an eight-foot sound barrier, would run alongside 31st street and through the contested Baker Wetlands. Recently, members of the ECM have initiated an effort to raise $832,00 for restorations to the building.
