Forget movie rental stores, Redbox is the way to go.

It was about eight months ago or so when I went into McDonalds, when I learned of Redbox. Redbox carries all the latest dvds for rent, one dollar per day. At first I thought this was a new crazy idea McDonalds had, but then I started noticing them pop up all over.
What a great idea. Movie rental stores are so ridiculous these day anyways. I got so tired of going the store early in the day to get a new release which they usually never had anyway and paying more than five dollars, that I began buying every DVD I wanted to watch, because at least if I spend ten dollars I can keep it and watch it over.
Redbox offers all the newest films, which are the ones I typically want to see. I think it's rare people go to rental stores searching for older movies-most people just buy them. I think with places like Movie Gallery and Video Choice shutting down, it shows that the rental business isn't as popular as it used to be. Forget Blockbuster and Redbox allows you to get a film instantly rather than wait like Netflix, although I like that idea too.
It's crazy how much the business world is changing and especially movie rental businesses. One dollar isn't much at all, so if the movie is terrible, it's not a big waste as opposed if you rent it for five dollars or eight dollars or even buy it. Whoever invented the Redbox system is a genius. I only wish I could have invested in the company before it took off and make some of that profit. I think it's the future of rentals...

Four out of five Lawrence Redbox locations are at McDonald's.. what gives? Does McDonald's have a major deal with these people, and if so, is Redbox just an expansion of a bastardly corporation? Other locations within 30 miles include Walmart and Hyvee.
Netflix is totally cheaper (if you watch more than five movies per month) and also offers online downloads. Maybe it's a matter of personal preference, but I probably won't use Redbox.
I think McDonald's owns Redbox (or I could be just making that up). It would explain why they tend to be at McDonald's.
Genius.
Also there's an endless stream of 1-day-free Redbox codes - just google "redbox codes" to find a list. They're limited to one use per credit/debit card, but if you have a couple of those you can get a free movie every week at least. I've been doing this for months.
Thanks for the codes delta77. Redbox is not owned by McDonalds by the way.
